On 06 March 2026, Regina Mundi High School in Gweru hosted an inspiring Career Day aimed at exposing students to a wide range of professional opportunities and career pathways. The event brought together several organisations from different sectors, giving learners a valuable opportunity to interact with professionals and gain insight into the working world.

Among the participating organisations was ZETDC, a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, represented by Stakeholder Relations Officer Mr. T. Chizhande, Personnel Officer Mr. D. Charinga, and Risk Officer Mr. R. Chivamba. The ZETDC team engaged students through interactive discussions, presentations, and question-and-answer sessions that highlighted the important role played by the electricity supply industry in national development. Students were particularly excited to learn about the diverse career opportunities available within ZESA Holdings and its subsidiaries. The team explained that beyond engineering and technical roles, the organisation also offers careers in human resources, finance, information technology, stakeholder relations, risk management, environmental management, and customer service. This broadened the students’ understanding of the many professional paths available within the energy sector. During the session, the ZETDC representatives also emphasised the importance of academic excellence, discipline, and strong values in preparing for future careers. They encouraged learners to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), while also highlighting opportunities in business, communication, and management fields within the power utility. The interaction was lively, with students asking questions about internships, industrial attachment opportunities, and what it takes to join the organisation. Many expressed excitement about the possibility of one day contributing to the development of Zimbabwe’s energy sector. Career Day at Regina Mundi High School proved to be a meaningful platform for motivating students and helping them make informed decisions about their future. The participation of organisations such as ZETDC demonstrated a strong commitment to community engagement and youth empowerment, inspiring the next generation of professionals who will help drive Zimbabwe’s development.
