ZESA Holdings (Pvt) Ltd is a Zimbabwean state-owned firm tasked with generating, transmitting, and distributing energy. It has delegated this
task to its subsidiaries, Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) and Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC).
Other subsidiaries are ZESA Enterprises (ZENT) whose mandate is to pursue non-regulated business activities that add value to the ZESA Group, especially the electricity supply chain. PowerTel Communications (Pvt) Ltd provides Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) services to the ZESA Group and sells excess capacity to other external customers

ZESA Strategic Response to the Southern African Power Pool
ZESA is a trading member of the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP). Zimbabwe is at the geographical centre of the regional power pool and is inter-connected to all its four neighbours. This position makes ZESA the power transfer corridor from the energy – rich south the north. Zimbabwe regulations allows private players to develop power infrastructure throughout the value chain of generation, transmission and distribution.
STRATEGIC RESPONSE TO NATIONAL VISION 2030
Zimbabwe’s vision is to have a prosperous and empowered upper middle income society by 2030, with job opportunities and a high quality of life. In achieving this goal, the nation targets to increase
the number of households accessing electricity from 52.29% in 2017 to over 72% by 2030 among other goals.

The funding strategies mainly centre on mineral based counter trade financing, backward integration
into mining and Debt Financing.
