Job Description

The Director Supply Chain Services and Procurement will provide strategic leadership for ZESA's end-to-end supply chain function, ensuring efficient, cost-effective and resilient sourcing and delivery of goods, works and services required to support reliable electricity generation, transmission and distribution. The Director will advise the Group Chief Executive Officer, Board and Executive Committee on strategic procurement, supply chain risks, commercial decisions and resource optimisation, while driving supply chain transformation, value for money, operational efficiency and strong governance across the Group.

Requirements

• A degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or a closely related discipline - mandatory. • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Level 6 qualification or equivalent professional qualification - mandatory. • Full membership and Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), Zimbabwe Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) or an equivalent recognised professional body - mandatory. • An MBA, MSc in Supply Chain Management, Master of Public Policy or equivalent advanced degree - preferred. • A minimum of 10 years' progressive post-qualification experience, with a demonstrable track record of increasing responsibility in complex, procurement-intensive environments. • At least 5 years' experience at Director, Executive or equivalent senior management level within a large-scale public sector entity, utility, infrastructure organisation or similarly complex institution. • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement. Responsibilities

• Formulates and proposes a comprehensive Group Supply Chain Transformation Strategy aligned with the Corporate Strategy, Integrated Resource Plan and national energy objectives. • Directs the annual review and implementation of the Group Procurement and Supply Chain Plan, translating corporate priorities into measurable sourcing, procurement, logistics and inventory management targets. • Directs the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Group procurement and contracts-management policies, procedures, systems and manuals in compliance with applicable legislation and recognised best practice. • Provides strategic oversight of the procurement of high-value and complex goods, works and services required across the Group. • Oversees the negotiation and finalisation of high-value and strategically significant contracts, ensuring optimal commercial terms, appropriate risk allocation, performance guarantees and protection of the Company's interests. • Ensures effective contract administration, monitoring and close-out, including management of contractual obligations, variations, claims, disputes and performance issues. • Directs the Group-wide logistics function to ensure the timely, secure and cost-effective delivery of materials, equipment and other critical inputs to power stations, substations, project sites and operational facilities across the national network. • Oversees the management and optimisation of central and regional warehouses, ensuring appropriate stock levels, proper storage conditions, security, efficient inventory turnover and effective utilisation of warehouse capacity. • Implements and maintains an enterprise-wide inventory control and stores-management system that provides accurate visibility, traceability and accountability for materials across the Group. • Enforces Group-wide compliance with applicable procurement legislation, Treasury Instructions, governance requirements and the Group Code of Conduct. • Leads, develops and mentors the Group supply chain leadership team, establishing clear performance expectations and conducting structured performance and career-development reviews.
